–The landscape has been drawn into the main plan of the building to create an intimate private courtyard and separate pool area. These areas define the spatial organisation of the house, dividing the more private living zones and the purely functional spaces, such as the services and storage.
–Rather than a series of rooms, the storage spaces were designed as an oversized architectural furniture element that weaves throughout the house to incorporate the toilets, laundry and wardrobes.
–The master bedroom lies to the north-west corner of the house and is articulated to read as a separate single-storey annexe with a part-glazed roof and luxurious ensuite bathroom.
–The first-floor gallery takes advantage of the views across the site while also allowing daylight to filter deep into the building.
