The Waiting Room

−Neil Perry’s first stand-alone bar, The Waiting Room at Crown, aspires to the grandeur, opulence and comfort in the style of the grand hotels of Europe and America of yesteryear, and was inspired by a fine piece of vintage crystal glassware.

−Located in Crown Towers, The Waiting Room has a refined and elegant mood, which easily transforms from casual café by day to a sophisticated cocktail bar at night.

−From the moment guests pass through the five metre high steel and glass doors, there is a feeling of 1930’s glamour, and a journey that progresses through to smaller, more intimate and exclusive areas.

−The imaginative use of light creates an interior filled with drama and contrast. Custom- designed pendants give the effect of lowering the ceiling height, while directional lighting brushes the plush surfaces of fabrics, accentuating the palette of textures and colours. Accent lighting reflects off the abundant mosaic mirror tiles, enhancing the jewel box effect and the installation of candles adds a sense of natural movement in the space.

−Acoustic management is achieved by a high-performance acoustic waffle ceiling together with velvet fabric on the walls and flamboyant customised carpet, further enhancing the sense of glamour and intimacy.
